The U. S. Cavalry Memorial Research Library seeks to play a key role in the most important mission of the U.S. Cavalry Association, preservation of the history of the U.S. Cavalry. Located in a recently renovated building on Fort Reno, OK a military post steeped in cavalry lore and tradition, the Library serves as a research, preservation, and educational facility for books, documents, photographs, and other media related to the history of the mounted forces of the U.S. Army. The Library welcomes and assists researchers of all types and backgrounds from academic researchers, students of all levels, military personnel, genealogical researchers, and members of the general public.

The Canadian County Museum is rated as one of the outstanding museums in Oklahoma. Located in El Reno's Heritage Park, the grounds sit on the 98th meridian, which divided the unassigned lands in central Oklahoma from the Cheyenne and Arapaho lands in western Oklahoma. The main museum is housed in the fully restored old Rock Island Depot. The museum grounds house a number of historic buildings from the first Red Cross Canteen in the nation to General Sheridan's cabin, the oldest standing structure in Canadian County.

The Heritage Express Trolley is the only rail based trolley in the great State of Oklahoma. The trolley runs from Heritage Park, located on the grounds of the Canadian County Historical Museum, and travels through the downtown area where you can exit to enjoy a great meal at one of the unique restaurants or browse at one of the many specialty shops.
